Just finished the Barry Sears videos on inflammation. Fascinating narrative about how insulin and omega 6 abundance are creating an epidemic.
On the nearly romantic quest for the recommended 1:1 ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fats in our modern diets, I’ve been looking for alternatives to fish, which are controversial because of mercury levels. Sears mentions new super-fish-oils as a supplement.
I just read an article suggesting grass fed beef, if it’s a true product, is often better than 1:1 favoring omega 3. Food Cellar claims their beef is grass fed, but it doesn’t look or taste anything like the beef sold by Marlow and Daughters in Williamsburg. We’ll have to use our judgment on how to source good ingredients.
