Reading corner: stretch your quads – Doode, Where’s My Quads?
It all starts with the parents. Now, were you able to identify everything in this video?

That is crazy! I feel like those are the first words I ever learned to read — apple, potato, tomato…..
That is because you were exposed to fresh vegetables and fruits in the fridge and cupboards as a child I assume? While most American children see OREO, CHUNKY MONKEY, DORITOS, FROSTED FLAKES. They recognize a Potato Chip before a potato. The American diet is abysmal and getting worse. Even we crossfitters are still guilty of buying meats, vegetables and fruits from mass produced companies injecting or spraying our foods with hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and the like. A true Paleo diet should be free of all this contamination. Gee! I feel better now.
Tell em why u mad!
seriously though, my mom made me chop up veggies and help her when i was a kid. in retrospect, i probably smelled like garlic & meatballs a lot.
i’d rather be smelling like homemade meatballs & garlic than eating Frosted Flakes for breakfast, Dorito’s as a snack and Kraft “out of a box” mac n cheese for dinner
I kind of miss Frosted Flakes and Cinnamon Toast Crunch for Breakfast…
But I wanna lift heavy weight and get a sub-3 minute Fran!!!
Sigh… There are no solutions, only trade-offs. The question is – Does cinnamon toast crunch taste as good as a sub-3 minute Fran feels??
NO!!!!! But it’s close…
I had my own garden and my own chickens growing up!
Don’t get me wrong we had an apartment in the city too, for the winter. I remember the rule was that we could not eat anything before eating a whole plate of green salad for EACH meal. Now I love green salad
No wonder.
Here is the trade-off, Frosted Flakes lose of teeth, diabetes, obesity before your 50′s, possibly sooner. Healthy amount of fruits and veggies, sub-3 minute Fran!!! Not even close!!!
On the subject of burpees, is it just me, or is the description of today’s burpee requirement a little ominous somehow?
“Burpees, 10 reps with clap overhead while airborne”
Wow, that wording leaves me cold! And is there such a thing as a clapless burpee? I’m going to wikipedia this now.
I shouldn’t have looked:

Did Vadim hack into Al’s computer…?
I like the challenging variants Tom. I think Vadim has officially brainwashed me
As a parent, I find this video disturbing and insulting. First off, what 6 year old doesn’t know what a tomato is? Come on! My 3 year olds can identify most fruits and vegetables and it isn’t all from direct exposure its from reading, looking at pictures, TV and going to the supermarket. Kids are naturally inquisitive and ask “what is this?” when in the grocery store. I don’t get where this video is coming from. Are we really to believe an entire class is clueless when it comes to food? I do agree that most kids do not like to eat fresh foods, but they are aware of what they are.
OK, I take it back, I saw the rest of this video and see where he is coming from. This was filmed in the most obese county in the country and I can now see how these kids are clueless when it comes to nutrition. I take for granted that living in NYC we are exposed to so much even when we aren’t trying.
Barbara, You’ll be surprised but I have personally come across a few kids in NY metro that wouldn’t be able to name most of the items in this video, and their parents came from a different country and should know better
. AND.. I actually know a few grown-ups who won’t be able to name a few things in this video
