2012 NYC Open Series: In case you haven't heard us mention this yet, we have teamed up again with CrossFit Queens, CrossFit South Brooklyn, CrossFit Metropolis and CrossFit Virtuosity to host the Open this year. Same way as last year, we will be doing the Open workout each week at one of the affiliates. This is your chance to try the Games workouts, see where you stack up, meet other folks who train at neighboring gyms and just have fun and lots of it! Anyone who can do the most benchmarks Rx can and should participate. And your Fran time does not have to be 2 minutes, or 3 minutes, or even 5 minutes to do this. Got pull-ups? Got snatch? Clean and Jerk? Some double-unders? Can you deadlift, press and squat? How much is enough? Check Rippetoe Basic Strength Standards. Are you somewhere close to Intermediate? Go for it! Chances are, you should be able to do most, if not all of the Open workouts. If you weren't around last year, google 2011 Open workouts to get an idea of what you're getting into. The event registration page is here. To participate in the NYC Open Series each Saturday of the Open you have to register in both places: the CrossFit Games site, and the NYC Open Series eventbrite page. We will also be doing the Open workouts during the week each week and if you cannot attend the Saturday events, you will still be able to do the workout at the box during the week. You'd have to register on the Games website anyway if you want to see how you stack up against thousands of others around the globe. Questions?
