Testimonials

  • I come here because of the amazing environment and people

I’ve been going to CrossFit LIC for almost two years now and can’t say enough great things about this place. I have been to other gyms around the country and around the world where their daily WOD calls for a ridiculous amount of reps, weights, and/or movements that just didn’t make any sense. At CrossFit LIC, EVERY workout is well thought out so you’re not overtaxing a certain movement or body group, which means you’re less likely to get injured. You won’t find another place that emphasizes safety, proper technique and mechanics the way they do here.

Vadim is an amazing coach, and probably one of the best in NY. The facilities are spacious and comfortable and the people are welcoming and friendly. I don’t live or work near here, but I come here because of the amazing environment and people.

  • you feel part of a community

I’ve been going here since mid-June 2012 – started with the foundations class. Really, really helpful, extremely challenging, and addictive! I now go every day since early July (5x a week), and it has changed my life. All the coaches are great and Vadim, the owner/lead coach, is really friendly, tough, and helpful. The other customers who go here are really friendly and you feel part of a community. There’s never any shade or snootiness, it always feels like a productive place to be and always fun, even when it is really difficult!
    – Robert L.

  • The Murph Challenge 2015

    A message from Dan Murphy:

To My Fellow Patriots and Veterans,

Maureen, John and I want to thank all who participated in last year’s Murph Challenge and welcome you to the 2015 Challenge, which also marks the 10 year anniversary of Operation Red Wings. First I want to thank you for making 2014 such a uccess. Your participation and generosity allowed the LT Michael P. Murphy Scholarship Foundation to add three new scholarships to be awarded this year.  Michael’s Foundation is now awarding 13 or more scholarships per year.   In addition a contribution was made to That Others May Live.  They provide critical support, scholarships, and immediate tragedy assistance for the families of United States Air Force Rescue Heroes who are killed or injured in the line of duty.  Your contributions also went to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation who will be using those funds specifically for college scholarships for the children of Fallen Men of Operation Red Wings.  Michael believed “education will set you free” and we know he couldn’t be happier that his legacy is helping those furthering their education.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Forged for their unwavering support and working so hard to make sure the Murph continues to honor Michael.  We are truly indebted to them for making sure the Murph Challenge not only grows every year, but that the two things that matter most are not forgotten, Michael and those that honor him by participating each year.

It is with deep gratitude that I thank you all so much for honoring the service, life, sacrifice and legacy of my son Michael. I look forward to 2015 being another successful year because of YOU! On behalf of the Murphy family and Michael’s Foundation, I wish you all the best of luck and our deepest appreciation.

    Daniel J Murphy, Esq
